Chief Expert of National Neurological Diseases Clinical Research Center - Clinical Trial Center. He graduated from Peking Union Medical College and took postdoctoral research at BAYLOR Medical College in the United States. He is one of the pioneers who performed Phase I clinical trials in China. He established the Phase I unit of Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH) in 1995. He used to be the deputy director of the Clinical Pharmacology Research Center and the director of Phase I unit in PUMCH. As principle investigator, he has completed more than 200 Phase I clinical trials for various drugs. He has published more than 170 articles. He was also the principle investigator of the 11th and 12th Five-Year National Plan of Drug Development. Since 1998, he has been appointed as an external reviewer for the Centre for Drug Evaluation in CFDA (now NMPA).
